In my 50s, I bought a run down farmhouse in rural Vermont, left a successful marketing career, and went back to school to get an MFA. I also got tattoos and a dog. ☘️❤️
Well, I am starting a PhD in marine science at nearly 35 - coming from a background in +9 years corporate IT. 😅
I used to be the youngest in whatever I did for most of my life. Starting a master's degree in a completely different field at 31 already seemed daunting. I don't feel too old to do a PhD (I need to read your other post right after this one 😆), but it feels different. I still can't fully describe my feelings about it.

Catherine, wow!!!! That’s my dream (especially the farmhouse and the dog) and congratulations on your MFA! And the tattoos sound super cool.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful story - it’s never late!

That’s so amazing!
I have students on my program who are in their sixties, it’s fantastic to be with them and share our experiences with each other!
It just reinforces the motto, “Its never too late”!
Or it’s, even 😉
Thank you for these kind words, Vicky! I'm very touched.
It’s a pleasure!
