Writing for the PhD - Presentations
Is preparing for a presentation really writing? Plus, the Music Highlight
(Here I am, presenting at the 1st Loras Network Conference my sister Eugenia and I had organised in 2013, with lovely speakers and attendees!)
I remember having a discussion in my PhD cohort during a writing session we were having - we accounted for what we were going to do during the session, so one of the people said they were going to work on a conference abstract and maybe the slides too. Then they wondered out loud: am I really writing now?
Of course! We all boomed. You are doing research, you are using your research for the abstract and the script you potentially have, and you are trying to condense the reserach into slides. It need a lot of thought and utilising a lot of your PhD skills.
What do you think?
The Music Highlight
When Vicky discovered K-pop - wow! (It’s the abbreviation for Korean pop music, for any newbies like myself.) Huge delay but there is some great music in this category.
Just like the following track which is so uplifting and funky!
I remember how proud we were of you for these presentations (and still are) and yes, I agree that it counts for writing!
