Why do you need a CV for your PhD?
Doing a PhD is a bit like a job, or a lot like a job in some cases - and if you’re thinking of doing a postdoc afterwards, or working in academia, or industry even, you definitely need a CV to show your future supervisor/employer what you have been doing in the past x years in your PhD.
Keep updating it - did you just make a speech, give a short talk, do a poster presentation? Keep that CV open permanently in your computer (I started doing that a couple of years ago), and anything you do, just go in and add it.
Adding everything at the end will take you a lot of time to sift through everything, and you are bound to forget something - and there’s a great possibility that the something you forget is important.
Where can you get help to format your own? Canva (the free version even) and Microsoft have some templates ready for you; and you can customize them to your heart’s content.
The style? I’ve seen really creative ones, some more low-profile - do what represents you!
The Music Highlight
One thing I love is when one of my favorite bands brings out a new…album? Record? What do they call them these days? : )
It also stresses me out a bit, because I am always worried it will be a flop when their previous music has been legendary : )
A band that never ever ever disappoints is Tears for Fears. Here is their first track from their new music! (And if you are a fan, you will get Sowing the Seeds of Love vibes from their new video - so you get that as a bonus track as well!)
Excellent continuation, Vicky! 👏
